Kate is a regular and highly regarded moderator and host for writers festivals, book launches and conferences, appearing at hundreds of events including; Melbourne Writers Festival, Sydney Writers Festival, Newcastle Writers Festival, Adelaide Writers Week, Brisbane Writers Festival, Margaret River Readers and Writers Festival, Canberra Writers Festival, Dibrugargh Literary Festival and Verb Wellington. Mentoring

With her writing experience and teacher training, Kate is an experienced mentor for writers; supporting them on dealing with creative stumbling blocks, building sustainable creative practice and in-depth work on novels-in-progress. Kate’s first book, SKYLARKING was published in Australia by Black Inc. in 2016 and in the UK by Legend Press in 2017. Her second THE MOTHER FAULT is published in Australia by Simon & Schuster in 2020 and in the UK by Harper Collins UK in 2021. Kate’s third novel, THE HUMMINGBIRD EFFECT was published in Australia by Simon & Schuster in August 2023. In 2024 Simon & Schuster published Kate’s children’s picture book TO STIR WITH LOVE, illustrated by Jess Racklyeft. Kate’s fourth novel, THE HIDING PLACE, will be released in October 2025, also published by Simon & Schuster.
